My Background
Who Am I?
My proudest accomplishment was becoming the first person in my family to graduate from high school and attend a four-year college. I was born into a low-income family. I had to deal with adversity at a young age such a s homelessness, poverty, and mental illness like depression.
These events in my life have been extremely difficult. However, as time passed, the losses became lessons, which shaped the person I am today.
A BOSS who is brave, original, smart, and silly. Regardless of the challenges that attempt to hinder my growth, I know that I am capable of achieving any goals and ambitions through faith.
Where It All Began
YouTube
As awkward as it seems, this was the first film I ever produced. Back in December 2015, I wanted to make a YouTube channel because I was curious about cinema. It turned out to be the best decision I ever made because it inspired me to pursue filmmaking.
When I created this channel, I didn't know where it would lead me. All I cared about was making fun, exclusive videos for an audience. Before I started, I was terrified. When I told my friends and family, they all stared at me like I was crazy. "YouTube is not a real job," doubted my dad, "Nobody wants to watch your content," a friend once said. I ignored them and followed my heart.
A few years later, I was given a full ride to one of the most prestigious film schools in the country. If I never took the risk, I wouldn't have developed a passion for film. Moral of the story: shoot your shot because you never know where it might lead you.
